Your first Sunday
Here’s what a usual Sunday looks like:
1. Arrive
Look out for our welcome team. Let someone know you’re new and they’ll happily help you find your way.
2. Settle in
Find a seat and help yourself to a drink or snack. People often catch up over coffee before the service begins.
3. Join in as much as you like
A band leads us in worship and there’ll normally be a talk based on the Bible. Sing along, listen, or simply take it all in.
4. Prayer if you’d like it
Towards the end there’s usually an opportunity for prayer, with members of our ministry team available to pray with you.
Coming with children or young people?
Children and young people are a big part of our Sunday mornings. There are spaces and groups from babies right through to Year 13.
Babies & under 2s
Stay together or use the creche — whatever works for you.
At Crowthorne there’s a stay-and-play creche with toys, space to explore, a live stream of the service and a nappy-changing station. At Sandhurst there’s a creche area at the back of the room. Young families are welcome to use these spaces or stay together in the main service.
Kingdom Kids
Age 2 through primary school.
Kingdom Kids is much more than childcare. Children have fun, make friends, explore the Bible, worship and learn to pray and experience God for themselves. At Crowthorne, primary-age children have their own full Sunday service; at Sandhurst, ages 2 to Year 6 meet together.
Youth
Years 7–13.
Young people stay with everyone for the start of the service and worship, then head to a breakout room with the Youth team for games, discussion and time exploring what following Jesus looks like in everyday life. The same team also run a weekday Youth Hangout.
A few things you might be wondering
Church can feel unfamiliar if you haven’t been before. Here are answers to some of the things people often want to know.
What should I wear?
Whatever you’re comfortable in. There’s no dress code.
Do I have to sing?
No. A band leads us in worship, but there’s no pressure to sing. You’re welcome to listen or read the words on the screens.
Will I be singled out because I’m new?
No. Our welcome team will happily help if you need them, but you won’t be asked to stand up or introduce yourself.
What actually happens during the service?
We normally begin with a few notices, spend time worshipping together, hear a talk based on the Bible and then make space for prayer.
What if my child needs some additional support?
Please get in touch before your visit. We know some children need additional support to access and meaningfully engage with our groups, and our Kids team would be happy to talk through what would help your child feel comfortable and included.
Can somebody pray with me?
Yes. There is usually an opportunity for prayer towards the end of the service, with members of our ministry team available to pray with you.
