About Vineyard25

One church family, meeting across Berkshire and Hampshire.

The Vineyard25 church family

A church family with room for you

Vineyard25 is one church family meeting across Berkshire and Hampshire. We want to be a church that loves God and loves people, and for that to shape both what happens when we gather and how we live through the week.

Whether you’ve just moved to the area or lived here for years, we’re glad you’ve found us. Whether church is familiar to you or completely new, you’re welcome.

We’re part of the Vineyard movement: a family of churches seeking to follow Jesus, make room for the Holy Spirit and see God’s Kingdom make a difference in ordinary life.

Our story

Vineyard25 began small. More than 25 years later, the heart is still the same: to build a church that loves God, loves people and makes a practical difference.

  1. 1999

    A Vineyard is planted

Wokingham Vineyard began as a church plant with a small group of people and a desire to build a church that loved God and loved people.

  2. Early years

    Starting small

Public Sunday gatherings began at Hatch Ride Junior School. Just 19 people were there on the first Sunday, and the church community grew quickly through its early years.

  3. 2005

    Putting down roots

Sunday gatherings moved to Edgbarrow School in Crowthorne, which remains home to our Crowthorne Sunday gathering today.

  4. Over the years

    Love made practical

Church life grew far beyond Sundays, with ministries including Foodbank, Growbaby, Olive Branch and Zoe Zambia putting care for people into practice locally and further afield.

  5. Today

One church, growing into new communities

Today Vineyard25 is one church family meeting in Crowthorne and Sandhurst, with a monthly Sunday evening gathering in Crowthorne, alongside groups and ministries through the week.

Love God. Love people.

Our vision is deliberately simple.

We want to be a church that loves God wholeheartedly and loves people in a way that is visible and practical.

That means following Jesus together, welcoming the work of the Holy Spirit, building genuine community and looking beyond ourselves to the people and places around us.

It shapes our Sundays, our midweek groups, the way we pray, the way we worship and the practical support offered through our ministries.

What being a Vineyard church means

Vineyard churches share a theology and a way of doing church that shapes how we worship, pray, lead and serve.

The Kingdom of God

Jesus taught that God’s Kingdom has come near. We live in the tension of seeing God at work now while still waiting for everything to be made new. So we pray with expectation, while making room for mystery, disappointment and hope.

Come, Holy Spirit

We believe the Holy Spirit is present and active today. We make room to listen, pray for one another and expect God to speak, heal, comfort, challenge and empower ordinary people.

Worship that makes room

Worship has always been central to the Vineyard. We want it to be intimate and expectant, but also accessible — creating space to encounter God without needing to know all the rules of church first.

Love in action

Following Jesus should make a practical difference. We particularly want to notice and serve people experiencing poverty, vulnerability or exclusion, treating everyone with dignity, generosity and compassion.

Everybody gets to play

Ministry isn’t reserved for the people at the front. We want ordinary people to discover their gifts, pray for others, take responsibility and participate in what God is doing.

Always making room

The Vineyard is a church-planting movement. We want to develop new leaders, invest in the next generation and create healthy new communities where more people can encounter Jesus.

Part of the Vineyard family

Vineyard25 is part of Vineyard Churches UK & Ireland and the worldwide Vineyard movement.

Across the Vineyard, local churches share a commitment to the good news of Jesus, the Kingdom of God, the presence and power of the Holy Spirit, passionate worship, compassion for people in need, making disciples and developing new leaders.

Our shared Statement of Faith sets out the Christian beliefs underneath that life together, including what we believe about God, Jesus, salvation, the Holy Spirit, the Bible, the Church and the coming fullness of God’s Kingdom.

Come and meet us

The best way to get to know Vineyard25 is still to come along.
