Before you arrive...
So here’s the thing… we’re not expecting anything from you! That means you can wear whatever you’re comfortable in and be confident you’re welcome.
Whatever method of transport you take, be prepared to be greeted in the exact same way – a smiling face in the car park and a “hello” by the front door! Just let them know you’re new and they’ll introduce you to one of the team.
Once you get into the building, feel free to mark your territory by grabbing a chair and popping your coat or bag on it. You’ll see free drinks and snacks available – help yourself! Our people tend to arrive early, and catch up with one another over coffee.
Then, if you came with any children, don’t forget to sign them into Kingdom Kids before the service begins!
What about my children?
Babies
Stay-and-play creche for under 2s with a live stream of the service (Crowthorne site only)
Youth
Those in years 7-13 sit together during worship then head to a breakout room for fun and engaging activities (Crowthorne site only)
During the service...
The service will be hosted by pastors and other members of the team, and usually starts with a few notices – things like upcoming events or important information the majority of the church might like to know.
Then a music band will lead the room in singing songs about God, and to God. This might be more modern than what you may have experienced before, but feel no pressure to sing along – if you just want to read the words on the screens that’s okay too! Our songs are chosen to be easily learnt, and accessible to most people, so you should be able to pick them up easily if they are new to you.
One of the teaching team will then come to the front and give a short message, based on the bible. Sometimes we have “special” Sundays where we replace this part of the service with an update from one of our ministries – for example a Q&A with the person in charge of our Zoe Zambia outreach project.
This message is followed by a time dedicated to prayer – whatever is on your mind from the week, from the morning or otherwise – you can get prayer in a safe space here without any fear of judgement. One of the ministry team might ask to put their hand on your shoulder and pray for God to work in you.
